2016/17 shows announced

DarlingtonOS is proud to announce our latest selection of shows. In Autumn 2016, we will present Spamalot. Based on the cult film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this laugh-out-loud show will have you rolling in the aisles as we follow King Arthur and his brave (and not-so-brave!) knights as they battle taunting Frenchmen and killer rabbits in their quest for the Holy Grail.

In Spring 2017, DarlingtonOS will present the universally loved classic, West Side Story. This musical features in every top ten list and with good reason - the contemporary style, energetic dance routines, and story of love and hate amongst rivals never grows old.

Back by popular demand, Strictly Musicals 2 (Autumn 2017) will give you a dazzling evening of song and dance, as DarlingtonOS shows off its vast array of talent, both old and new!

New venue announced for Autumn 2016

As Darlington Civic Theatre is due to undergo refurbishment in 2016, we have been looking to find a suitable alternative performance venuet. After extensive searching, we are pleased to announce that our Autumn 2016 production, Spamalot, will be performed at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium at Yarm School.

From their website:

"The Princess Alexandra Auditorium is a stunning 750-seat performance venue based on the banks of the River Tees at Yarm School.

The auditorium has been designed and built to the highest performance specifications. The facility was recently awarded a commendation by the Civic Trust Awards and two prestigious RIBA Awards for design excellence.

There is an orchestra pit, a bespoke 4 tier digital organ and specialist acoustics. Beautiful views of the River Tees can be enjoyed over refreshments from the bistro in the atrium. The space is fully flexible, with tiered retractable seating, as well as a Studio Theatre and a Recital Room, both available in different configurations as well as the larger Auditorium space."
