Miss Joy Beadell became a member in 1947, then went on to be a ballet mistress, choreographer, director and finally President of our society.
Joy’s family had emigrated to New Zealand and Joy eventually decided to retire to live there in 1988. Frequent visits were made back to the UK and in 1995, on the occasion of our 50th anniversary; Joy brought with her a specially commissioned trophy, from New Zealand.
Joy passed away on 28th August 2007 aged 87 years old
